Rye Museum Paintings

Rye Museum’s paintings are online!

The Public Catalogue Foundation (PCF) and the BBC recently completed their hugely ambitious project to put online the United Kingdom’s entire collection of oil paintings in public ownership. This makes the UK the first country in the world to give such access to its national collection of paintings. Over 3000 museums and art galleries across the UK have participated in the project and  nearly 212,000 paintings are now on the Your Paintings website.  You can access them on that site by location, artist or painting.

For your convenience, here is a link to Rye Museum’s paintings  complete with annotations.

A future post will show paintings of Rye held by other museums and art galleries.
