Legacies
Independent museums like ours rely on legacies from their supporters. The amount may be as much or as little as you decide. When you are drafting or revising your Will, please consider leaving a charitable legacy to the Museum. Â
It can, if you wish, be made towards some specific project or aspect of the Museum’s work, or for additions to the Collection. Whatever you decide you can be sure it will be very much appreciated and your name will be attached to the outcome of the project, work, or objects purchased.
Should you wish to discuss aspects of legacies with the Curator or one of the Directors do please contact us for an appointment.. All such matters will be treated in the strictest confidence.

Future Plans
Museums are often seen as places that preserve the past, but they also play an important role in shaping the future. Our aim is not only to safeguard the stories, objects and buildings that tell the history of Rye, but also to ensure that future generations can discover, enjoy and learn from them.
As technology evolves, we are exploring new ways to share our collections and make local history accessible to wider audiences. At the same time, we remain committed to providing authentic experiences that connect visitors with the people, events and traditions that have shaped our town.
The future of Rye Museum depends on the support of our volunteers, members, donors and visitors. Together, we can continue to protect Rye’s remarkable heritage while inspiring curiosity, learning and community engagement for many years to come.
